012What have I seen practically EVERY person wearing? Well, it’s got to be the Military chic style everyone’s been raving about for sure! It’s such a casual and laid-back look, but totally stunning at the same time…The only problem is, that practically everyone has been wearing it. If you like to follow the trends, then totally go for a over-sized camouflage jacket, which I have been totally LOVING! (New Look do great jackets!) But if you like to go for individual styles, but still want to be loving that Military chic look, then go for trousers or a printed scarf instead! I’ve seen too many jackets and coats with the camouflage print…Time to see more different pieces of clothing with the print on!

I have a pair of trousers from French Connection in a lovely khaki colour, with cute little buckles on them…You don’t HAVE to necessarily go for a printed item…Anything in khaki with a bit of detailing still counts! Above is a picture of my jeans…Here’s a close-up:

026Quick post on neon. So, the warmer seasons SHOULD be coming up HOPEFULLY soon…So neon will be IN. Sort your wardrobe out and brighten it up a bit…It will make your day.;-)

So, this top from River Island is totally right for the warm seasons. I wouldn’t normally wear a bright tee like this, but come on, it will put you in SUCH a good mood, and neon is totally on-trend!

I love the cute collar and the little detailing and buttons. Such a good find…It was in a charity shop! So cute:-)…Here’s a close-up:

PicMonkey CollageWho am I loving? What am I loving? Well, read on and I shall spill!

At the moment I’m having a phase of loving people and films who were made famous in the 60s, 70s and 90s. I don’t know why…But I just am. Okay?;-) Above is just a few pictures I found off the internet, which I made into a collage.

1. The Rolling Stones. I just love them. I was walking down Carnaby Street in London and the street was themed with Rolling Stones displays above us, and there was also even a little Rolling Stones pop-up shop! So cute!:-) I also love Mick Jagger’s daughter, Georgia May Jagger!

2. David Bowie. What a legend…And still making music today! I was also reading an article about him in Ok! magazine recently.

3. The Beatles. Ok, who doesn’t like The Beatles?! Ok, well, maybe some people don’t, but I definitely do! I have so many tops with them on, it’s unreal! I also love Stella McCartney, Paul McCartney’s daughter, as I love her fashion line!

4. The Velvet Underground. I actually only just came across this band, and I instantly fell in love! Go check ’em out!

5. Twiggy. I ADORE Twiggy. She’s still an amazing model, but those pictures from the 60s…Wow. I once dressed up as Twiggy for a fancy-dress party…So much fun!

6. Grease. Grease is the word…This film. I love this film so much! I love the singing and all the outfits! Such a good storyline too.

7. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. I love this film, and used to watch it all the time when I was younger! I also like the newer version, but this is just a classic. The book by Roald Dahl is just amazing…If you haven’t read the book…You’re missing out!

8. Fatboy Slim. I love his music, and the music videos. Such great hits.

9. Lastly, it’s got to be Clueless. The outfits, the glamour, Alicia Silverstone…Such a funny teenage movie. This is a must-watch chick-flick for all teenage girls!

021So, quite a long post for you all today!:-) Whenever anyone takes out a camera to take a picture of me, I always groan and want to hide my face, because I know they’ll probably get a bad picture of me!

So, how can you look good in a photo? Well, follow these few tips and you’ll feel a lot more confident about yourself.

1. Choose your make-up carefully! Don’t cake yourself in make-up, just a bit of mascara and foundation is just right, and make sure your face isn’t shiny with grease or sweat…Just dab a bit of powder on and you’re good to go!

2. Practice your pose beforehand, so that you know exactly what you’re going to do, instead of getting worked up at the last minute! Get someone to look at your pose before and help you, just so you know that you look good.

3. Get the right lighting. Avoid direct light, as this can cast shadows. You may not be able to get perfect lighting, but go to the shade for outdoors-y photographs, or places with softer lighting.

4. Double chins are complete no-nos! To make sure this doesn’t happen, make sure the camera is at your eye level or just above you. Tilt your head up slightly and jut your jaw out.

5. Look to your right. Apparently the left side of your face is more attractive than the other, because it looks at though it shows more emotion!

6. We don’t want any red eyes now, do we?! Who would want red eyes or half-shut eyes ruining a photo? Make sure you avoid this by looking slightly above or below the camera lens!

7. Make sure you know what your best features are, and emphasise these feature to make them stand out in photos! Make-up can help, and even another good brush of those teeth of yours!

So, enough of that, and on to my next, and last topic!

Calendars. Calendars are there to make sure you know what’s planned for your week ahead, and to keep you up to your schedule! When calendars are finished, it’s nice to look back on your year…But you can’t do this if you don’t fill in any special dates which came up! I practically never fill in calendars…I just remember what I’m doing that week! But to be honest, I’d love to look back at my calendar at the end of this year and see what I’ve achieved or done. It just brings back memories and makes you feel so good! So, that was just a little thought for you all. Maybe you could try this out with me…(if you don’t normally fill in calendars!) If you do, than keep up the hard work! Ha ha.

chemistryThere’s something about the ‘Geek chic’ look at the moment…Topshop are doing rather well for providing us with sweaters and tees saying cute stuff like ‘Chemistry’, ‘Geek’ and ‘Genius’.

My top picks:

1. This tee saying ‘Geek’ from Topshop is simple, yet loud: 26G54DWHT_large.jpg

2. The above jumper from Topshop saying ‘Chemistry’, which my friend was modelling for me, is so cute and reminded us both of The Big Bang Theory! Check it out: 26G19DBLK_normal.jpg

3. This sweater from Topshop is seriously cool: 23H09DCRM_large.jpg I mean, Genius? Yep. That’s definitely me…Ha ha.;-)

This was just a simple quick post, and I hope you enjoyed it…Today I’m going to spend the day snapping pictures and writing more blogs that will be up soon…Look out for my next one tomorrow!

laceSo, this post is on leather and lace, I mean, they both start with the letter ‘L’, they’re both completely different types of material to each other, and they’re both completely different styles…the perfect combination!

How could you pair leather and lace together? Well, Megan’s (from http://littlegothgirlblog.blogspot.co.uk/) favourite two materials for clothing are leather and lace, and I see her wear it all the time! It’s just…how DOES she pull it off?!

Just follow these three tips to pull it off:

1. Go with the same types of colour schemes. You could have black leather and white lace, or you could have two popping colours of leather and lace, or just the same colour for both of them!

2. The right style. So, we all know that leather and lace are two completely different styles, but we can mix these two styles together to get a totally different style! We can make them both completely edgy with a leather jacket with studs and a cropped lace top, or we can make them both really laid-back and casual with a pretty lace dress and a little leather bag!

3. The right types of accessories. If you go for a more girly and laid-back style, accessorize with pieces that match that look, like a cute little flower hair-clip or a nice long silver necklace with a pretty charm at the end! If you’re going for a more edgy look, then pile up on studded jewellery and paint your nails a dark, but subtle colour…I love the classic black nail for a rock-chick look.

flowersOk, I did a post on what I loved during Winter, but now…I’m going to do what I didn’t like…Dundundun!!!

So. Let me start off by saying, that normally these brands sell good quality stuff…but I just wasn’t very impressed with these ones. That’s all!

Let me start off with the Garnier Fresh Essentials Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover. This looked quite good, but when I applied it to my eyes and took off my eye make-up, it stung! It might just be me who gets it, or maybe I was having an allergic reaction or something, but this is just not great at all. Maybe it works on some people, but for me…it’s just a complete no-no.

I got the No7 Amazing Eyes Pencil in number 10 Brown as I wanted to go for a more subtle look of eye liner to line my eyes, but instead, it seems like the eye liner doesn’t stand out AT all! The colour doesn’t even seem brown on my eyes, but more like grey! I didn’t like this product at all. Maybe it’s just how I’m applying it? I don’t know, but it just doesn’t work for me.

I picked up a Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lip Tint in number 700 Nothing But Nude, and firstly it was really good! I could definitely see a brighter colour on my lips, making them look glowy and shiny with a gorgeous hint of colour…but before I get into how good it was at the beginning, it seems that it ran out of glowing colour after only about two weeks of use! It still worked, but had hardly any difference of colour on my lips! The lip balm wasn’t too good either, as it snapped off and was always quite sticky on my lips, which didn’t feel too great!

I went shopping with my cousin and I was looking for a good waterproof mascara, and she told me that I’d love the Rimmel Glam Eyes Waterproof Mascara in number 001 Black, but to be honest, I hated it! I only wore it about three times! It was good for my needs, as it was waterproof, but the brush of the mascara didn’t give my lashes any volume and lift! I thought, well, I might as well wear none, than wear this!

So! Those were my not so favourite beauty products for Winter…It was just a few, as I didn’t have a lot that I wasn’t pleased about! So, I hope you enjoyed this post and have a good evening!

Also a quick, cute picture at the top of this post, because my friend was wearing this pretty little flowery top, and I thought I’d share it with you!
