66Hey lovelies! This is just a round up of what I’ve been up to this last week before I go back to school…(PLEASE NO, PLEASE NO.)

1. Had a fabbity-fab day out in London with my beautiful cousin, Beth. We strolled around Camden for a bit, snapping away like little photographers (photo-heavy post coming soon!) We took to some stalls and bought cute little friendship bracelets, and invested in a healthy kale juice to keep us energized on the go! We also went to one of the cheap little shops and bought loads of cute rings! After we’d finished with Camden, we caught the tube to Oxford street and rummaged around in H&M and Primark for cute clothes! I have to say…Oxford Street’s Primark is horrendous. It’s massive and crowded…I hated it, ugh. We then went off to Ed’s Diner for fries, burgers, onion rings and sweet potato fries! Don’t forget the little photo-booth machine we came across…

2. Oh my, The Inbetweeners 2 is hilarious! I recommend it for a girly day out with friends for a good ol’ laugh! I personally think it’s a lot funnier than the first film, and me, Amber and Katie couldn’t help cracking up every five minutes!

3. I did the dreaded school shop the other day, and after about two shops looking for shoes, I’d given up and started moaning that I wanted to go home! I love clothes and all that material stuff, but I haaate shopping…I’d much rather shop online, and it’s even worse considering it’s shopping for school clothes! I found some awesome black patent brogues though, which I said I’d wear for school…Even though they’re gorgeous and are most certainly going to be worn out and about everywhere I go! I also got my hideous school skirt, but ended up getting a lovely treat from Costa at the end (a Raspberry and White Chocolate Creamy Cooler and a lovely piece of coffee and hazelnut cake!)

4. I had a lovely catch-up with my bestie, Jenny, since she’s just gotten back from the US! I’m a lucky girly, I got given a few awesome prezzies, which will be up in a haul soon! We also took part in the Ice Bucket Challenge (yes, there were screams), and ended up at a pet store looking at adorable rabbits, hamsters and guinea pigs! (Zoe, I blame you for this!)

5. It was my brother’s birthday recently, so I ended up baking his birthday cake and all the little cupcakes…It took me FIVE HOURS, WHAT. But they came out perrrfectly, so it was well worth it!

6. I went to a friend’s party with Tasha, Emillie and Kim, and it was such fun! (Ooh, another Miranda reference, oops!)

7. My family tend to throw little gatherings and get-togethers from time-to-time, so this annual event took place the other day, and we all went down to the beach to search for crabs, fly kites and toast marshmallows! It was lovely catching up with all my family too!

How’s your week been?

27 28 29 30 31 JANE BIRKIN PORTRAIT EN 1971 JANE BIRKIN PORTRAIT EN 1971Hey lovelies! I just wanted to share some music lyrics that altogether epitomise body confidence.

P!nk – Perfect:

Pretty, pretty please, don’t you ever, ever feel.
Like you’re less than, less than perfect.
Pretty, pretty please, if you ever, ever feel.
Like you’re nothing you’re perfect to me.

Christina Aguilera – Beautiful:

I am beautiful no matter what they say.
Words can’t bring me down.
I am beautiful in every single way.
Yes, words can’t bring me down… Oh no.
So don’t you bring me down today.

India.Arie – Video:

I’m not the average girl from your video.
And I ain’t built like a supermodel.
But I learned to love myself unconditionally.
Because I am a queen.

Robyn – Konichiwa B****es:

Don’t even get me started on my bada-boom-booms.
One left, one right – thats how I organize ’em.
You know I fill my cups no need to supersize em’.
Right now you probably thinking “how she get in them jeans”.
Well, I’m gifted all natural and burstin the seams.

Lily Allen – Hard Out Here:

If you’re not a size six, then you’re not good looking.
Well, you better be rich, or be real good at cooking.
You should probably lose some weight ’cause we can’t see your bones.
You should probably fix your face or you’ll end up on your own.

Don’t you want to have somebody who objectifies you?
Have you thought about your butt? Who’s gonna tear it in two?
We’ve never had it so good, uh-huh, we’re out of the woods.
And if you can’t detect the sarcasm, you’ve misunderstood.

Janelle Monae ft. Erykah Badu – Q.U.E.E.N.:

They call us dirty ’cause we break all your rules down.
And we just came to act a fool, is that all right (Girl, that’s alright.)
They be like, “Ooh, let them eat cake.”
But we eat wings and throw them bones on the ground.

Lissie – Shameless:

I stole your magazine.
The one with the beauty queen on the front.
I see her look at me.
I swear that it is mockingly.
What the f***?
And you decide what I should like.
But I don’t buy no hype.
Like in the magazine.
The one with the beauty queen on the front.

Meghan Trainor – All About That Bass:

I see the magazines working that Photoshop.
We know that s*** ain’t real.
Come on now, make it stop.
If you got beauty beauty just raise ’em up.
‘Cause every inch of you is perfect.
From the bottom to the top.

Check out all these songs, I’m hooked!

Hey lovelies! You’ve probably noticed recently that I’ve been blogging about serious topics that matter to me instead of just posts on fashion and beauty…Don’t worry, I’ll carry on blogging about all that good stuff, but I thought this blog should also be a platform that allows me too express my other personal views as well.

Now onto the post…

I think it’s disgusting that women occasionally have to deal with being whistled at, being honked at by cars and being cat-called at with a degrading comment, such as “yo, sexy” or “oi, baby”, making women feel like an object instead of a normal human being trying to get on with their day. Women should not have to deal with this type of disgusting street harassment, even if the person is just trying to say “hi” or “be nice”. It’s horrible, and actually using the words “hi” would be much more appreciated, other than having sickening language thrown at all us women in general, making us all feel uncomfortable. This is why I’m proud to say that many women have been tweeting with the hashtag #NotJustHello; sharing their views and experiences on street harassment, to fight back and make sure all men (and women) know that this is #NotJustHello.

What do you think?

Have you heard about Vanessa Hudgens’ new Bongo clothing ad campaign? Well, in a nutshell…All the pictures that glossy Hudgens has posed for are in fact, photo-shop free! No retouches or airbrushing was used at all, and it’s just pure Vanessa as her true self. This is such a powerful campaign, as it shows that all us girls (and boys!!!) shouldn’t have to change ourselves, but love our bodies and who we are…For who we are! It’s so inspirational that Vanessa would agree to go ahead with this, as it’s so hard to find celebrities in magazines with none of the normal photo-shopping antics that you would normally find!

It’s admirable that Bongo would choose to break down those photo-shop barriers, and show people that we need to end this photo-shopping frenzy…It’s not fair on those women who pick up magazines and question whether their bodies are ‘too fat’ or ‘too thin’, when in fact they’re neither…Everyone’s beautiful the way that they are. Fact.

It’s such a positive campaign, that we need to get other companies to follow in Bongo‘s footsteps and bring an end to these false images of women, when they don’t even look that way! It’s safe to say that I shall be ticking Vanessa off as one of the positive role models that we should all see ourselves admiring…

What are your thoughts on the horrible truth of photo-shopping?

Tallulah xoxo

P.S. Bongo owns all these photos!

hvL1EeqsHey lovelies! So okay, it’s starting to brighten up a lot here in England, with many a summer spell, and practically everyday I seem to end up bathing in my own sweat…It’s definitely Summer, which means many will be off to get their bodies fully bronzed up, but not me.

Why shouldn’t we all just embrace our own natural skin? Yes, I’m rather pale, but it doesn’t mean I need to go off and apply fake tan, or go out and bathe in the sun, just to try to get a tan, whilst effectively putting myself at risk of skin cancer…Pale girls in general have less skin pigmentation, so when they’re exposed to the sun they’re often at a high risk, as well as if they got into a tanning booth.

Of course I’m not saying that you should shut yourselves indoors all day, of course not! I mean, in England most people lack vitamin D because they don’t get enough sun, but this doesn’t mean that you should go outside without any sun cream just to gain a tan, and instead burn yourself silly. All I want to express, is that you shouldn’t need to try to get a tan just to cover up the fact that you may have quite pale skin, like me…You should embrace whatever skin you have, and we all just need to gain that extra boost of self-confidence and learn to love ourselves the way that we are!
