105Hey lovelies! Today’s post is just a quickie, as I’m feeling the need for an early night…I did a cute mini interview over on the lbloggerschat blog, and I thought that I would share it with you, just in case you hadn’t seen it…I hope you like it!:)

The interview:

Hey lovelies! I’m Tallulah, and I blog over at Simply My Thing! Okay, so if you already follow my blog, you will know that I mostly blog all about fashion and beauty, (I am obsessed. Help me.) but I LOVE to blog about everything and anything as well…I’m 15 years old (I started my blog at 13), and I am LOVING it! I love reading blogs and just gathering loads of inspiration to blog and write about!

Before I started blogging, I read a few blogs, including Arabella, Shiny Thoughts and Wish Wish Wish! I loved their style and how their personalities shone out in their writing…Plus, I am obsessed with the photography over on Carrie’s blog…It’s just ah-mazing! This is basically how I caught the blogging bug! That, and magazines, as well as my aunty and cousin, who kept telling me to make a blog, as I was always reading, writing and informing everyone on advice for fashion and make-up!

My favourite thing about blogging has got to be all the wonderful bloggers and blogs that you discover and get to meet! I recently went to Sophie etc.’s London Bloggy Meet-Up, and it was an amazing opportunity, to get to meet so many wonderful bloggers, including the one and only Lisette from Lisette Loves! (Such an inspiration for me!)
My most read post is about DIY youtubers that I love…I published it quite a while back, and I’m quite shocked at how many views it got, considering it’s actually quite poor! (Well that’s what I think, ugh, never satisfied!)
What’s my favourite post?! Hmmm, that’s a tricky one…I don’t know, probably one of my OOTD posts…I really like my Pushin’ On post, as I got a lot of views for that, and loads of compliments!
Life hacks? Well I’ll give you a beauty hack! Waterproof mascara is so difficult to get off sometimes, (!!!) but if you just use a bit of oil (olive oil is easy), massage a little bit into your lashes until the mascara starts to break away, wipe if off using a cotton pad, and then rinse, then it’s all done in a jiffy!
My favourite blogger at the moment is definitely Kayla Hadlington! Her style is just incredible…So wacky, but extremely beautiful! She really inspires me to mix different trends and pieces, and to just go for it and not care about following trends or worry about what people think! She also has so many amazing items of clothing, and I adore her hair and of course, her personality!
Thank you so much for interviewing me @LbloggersChat! It’s such an honour and I really enjoyed answering these questions alotalotalot!

131107-192444Hey lovelies! This is my second #BritishBloggerSelection post, and it’s a Q&A that Ellie decided to create…So let’s get on with the questions!

Question One: Why do you like blogging?

I’ve loved reading and writing since forever (bookworm alert;)) And my love for fashion came around at about the age of 11, and my love for make-up at around 13. I enjoy sharing my interests and little ramblings over the internet and connecting with all my readers!:)

Question Two: How did you come up with your blog name?

It was actually my auntie’s idea! She was helping me create my blog, and I wanted my blog to be a place to write about anything, not just necessarily fashion and beauty, so we decided on Simply My Thing!

Question Three: Where from the UK do you come from?

I come from the South East of England, and it’s lovely because I’m quite near to Brighton, little villages full of vintage shops, cute farms and of course the countryside!

Question Four: Favourite colour?

My favourite colour is definitely blue. I want my prom dress to maybe be a baby blue colour (or powder pink or cream…) But anyway, I find that the colour suits me when it comes to clothing, and I just love it in general!

Question Five: Do you like Lana Del Rey?

Who doesn’t?! Okay, maybe a few people, but I adore her. She and Ellie Goulding are such beautiful singers, and they’re such talented, strong-willed women, that I can’t help but look up to them.

Question Six: Hidden Talents That You Have?

Erm, I have no idea…I love singing, playing guitar and cello if that maybe counts? I also love photography, baking and acting!

Question Seven: Celebrity Crush?

Liam from 1D is beautiful. But then again so are Zac Efron and Nicholas Holt…

Question Eight: Favourite Blog Of All Time?

Amy Valentine is by far my favourite blog at the moment, but she’s quite a new find for me, and I have so many favourite blogs that I cannot possibly choose one…

Question Nine: What made you want to join #BritishBloggerSelection?

Ellie’s post on the group and the idea of connecting with other blogs in such an awesome way hooked me from the start! I just knew that I wanted to take part, and I’d seen so many of my bloggy friends taking part too, that I just couldn’t resist!

Let me know if you’re taking part!

Tallulah xoxo

8941894720_f52d07494c_zHey lovelies! This is sadly my last interview post (I may do more in the future…) But for now this is the last one, but I’m so glad that I can end it with an interview with the amazing Tami! Her blog is full of pictures of her gorgeous, girly style, and also cute pictures of life-style bits and bobs! You may have also seen her featured in Company magazine…This lady is the real deal.

1. Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?

I’d always had an interest in blogging and I also had a Tumblr long before I started using Blogspot. I guess initially it was Youtubers who had blogs alongside their channels who inspired me to try it out!

2. What do you do other than blogging?

I have an 11 month old baby so I look after her! I’m looking to work in social media or digital marketing though!

3. What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?

There has been loads of great experiences! But being a blogger and making blogger friends allowed me to intern at Company magazine, which was amazing!!!

4. Do you have any people/things that inspire you?

Not necessarily. I like cute, girly pieces and just get inspired by random outfits on television and in magazines!

5. What camera do you use?

I use a Canon 1100d 🙂

6. How would you describe your style?

I think I’d describe it as cute and feminine? I love wearing dresses and feel really weird when I wear trousers haha.

7. What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?

A leather jacket for sure. They’re so versatile and go with every outfit in my opinion!

8. Do you have any favourite designers?

I love Marc Jacobs, Vivienne Westwood and Mulberry. Not exactly out there, but I’m not big on designer things because I can’t afford it, but I love those three.

9. Which places do you often shop at?

I shop mainly at Topshop, River Island, New Look, ASOS and Primark…The usual!

10. If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would you steal?

I would definitely steal Rachel Bilson’s wardrobe. She’s always been my style icon, I absolutely love her.

Thanks ever so much Tami, and just in case you were wondering guys…Every Sunday (apart from tomorrow, sorry) I will be doing a ‘Sunday post’, where I shall just ramble about life’s happenings, and everything that I’ve done that week or am looking forward to! Anyway, look out for my next post later, and I hope you’re having a lovely Saturday!

Tallulah xoxo

blogheader2Today’s post is on the lovely Sarah! Her blog occurs of the occasional lifestyle post, and is full of awesome fashion-y bits and clothing…Oh my, and if you love dresses…You’re in for a real treat!;) Haha, now on for the interview!

1.Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?
I’ve always loved writing anyway, and for as long as I’ve had the internet I’ve had somewhere online to share my thoughts (although back in the day it was just photos of Angel from Buffy!) I started my blog as it is now when I was working for a beauty brand and started reading beauty blogs for work. I found myself coming up with post ideas and it went from there, although it didn’t stay beauty focused for very long…I really don’t know enough about makeup!

2.What do you do other than blogging?
I work full time in marketing but other than that, I like taking photographs, writing, drawing, TV, films, seeing comedy, going to the pub – Oh, and I go to a LOT of weddings.

3.What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?
I’ve been to some amazing events – Even on the London Eye! But the ultimate best experience is the friends I’ve made. Many of them have made the transition from ‘blogging friends’ to ‘real life friends’ with some of them, like Amy from wolfwhistle.org, among my best friends. I never expected to find a whole new social group from this, and it’s been amazing.

4.Do you have any people/things that inspire you?
Oh gosh, this is hard to answer without sounding pretentious! I think I’m inspired all the time, from the things my friends and family do, to the things I see other bloggers write about, to what’s in the media, what’s in the shops, etc. My sister inspires me a lot – She juggles work with three small children, hardly ever sleeps and hardly ever grumbles. I genuinely don’t know how she does it!

5.What camera do you use?
A Nikon D40 with a 35mm lens mostly, although sometimes I use a Nikon 1 and occasionally the rubbish camera on my iPhone 4S!

6.How would you describe your style?
Classic, girlie and un-trendy. I rarely follow trends – I’ve had some of my clothes for five years! I hate the idea of throwing something out because it’s out of fashion – If you like it, you should wear it. A little while ago I threw out everything in my wardrobe that I didn’t love, and that’s evolved into me wearing dresses 95% of the time. I always feel nice in a dress. 🙂

7.What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?
It’s super boring but I think I’m going to have to go with an LBD. A good little black dress can see you through every occasion, and I have more than one which are totally suitable for both work and play. They’re so versatile and basically work for every occasion.

8.Do you have any favourite designers?
I’m not a very designer person, to be honest, but I love Lulu Guinness, Luella (sniff) and Mulberry. I would LOVE a Mulberry bag!

9.Which places do you often shop at?
I think most of my clothes come from New Look, although lately I’ve been getting more and more from Topshop. Also for a special occasion, it’s got to be Debenhams.

10.If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, whose would you steal?
I’m going full on fictional here – But it has to be Blair Waldorf or Minnie Mouse!

Thanks for the lovely interview Sarah!

Tallulah xoxo

2aeebf2684d411e2b87b22000aaa07f6_7Hey lovelies! Back again today with two posts for you…Firstly an interview with Chelsea! Her blog is just super cool and inspiring…Her sense of style is amazing, and she always makes me jealous with her stash of make-up! She deserves so much more followers, so go check out her blog! Read on for the interview!

1.Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?

I started my blog about a year ago. I made a tumblr back in 2009 and I got quite a large number of followers on there, but I wanted something more personal. I’m still under the process of making it MY blog, so that people who read it can really get a feel of who I am. I would have to say I’m inspired by Kim Gordon’s blog, http://ilovewildfox.com/ , also Kayleigh at http://x-couturegirl-x.blogspot.com/ and I love Grace’s blog http://graceandbraver.blogspot.com/.

2.What do you do other than blogging?

My main passion is my artwork, I love drawing and have been really focusing on building up my pieces to build my portfolio and to maybe eventually sell my work!

3.What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?

Definitely my UK/US swap with Natalie over at http://youralmostalice.blogspot.com/. You can check out our swap on my blog, http://loveneauxt.blogspot.com/2013/05/uk-beauty-swap-stila-haul.html.

4.Do you have any people/things that inspire you?

Some artists who inspire me are Bei Bad Girl, Amber Seegmiller, Charmaine Olivia, Mel Stringer, Danny Brito. I also am really obsessed with reading and my tv shows, and i feel like they all give me some great inspiration, be it for art, makeup looks, style, anything! I am crazy about Boardwalk Empire right now…I also worship Lana Del Rey, she’s just so amazing…Female rappers like Iggy Azelea, Kat Dahlia. My cat Wednesday, the park by my house…I could go on and on. Inspiration is everywhere!

5.What camera do you use?

My iphone, or my little canon, nothing special. I’d like to purchase a better one once I can afford it.

6.How would you describe your style?

I’d say my style is a touch of classic mixed in with an boho/gangster touch. My style icons include Miley Cyrus, Nicole Richie, Kirsten Dunst, Erin Wasson, Gillian Zinser, the Olsens…etc. I love hoop earrings…So much. And patterned trousers.

7.What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?

Every person should own a nice fitted black blazer, as well as a perfect fitted pair of jeans. I am still on the search for those although I found the perfect pair of destroyed shorts for me yesterday and I’m quite excited! And hoop earrings!!! Red lipstick. Gotta have them.

8.Do you have any favourite designers?

As far as runway designers who inspire me, I clearly can’t afford any of those clothes, although I really love Celine, Wildfox, Alexander Wang and Dvf.

9.Which places do you often shop at?

I thrift shop a lot,  and also go to Forever 21, H&m, Franchescas…I buy my designer/speciality items from this boutique in my area.

10.If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would you steal?

Lana Del Rey or Gwen Stefani.

Thank you Chelsea!

Tallulah xoxo

IMG_7539Hey lovelies! Today I have a wonderful post on Emily! Oh my goodness, if you don’t know the blog Emily Divine, where have you been?! Her outfits, fashion sense and photography make me want to cry with jealousy! Such a beautiful blog, by such a beautiful blogger.

1.Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?

There were a handful of blogs I used to read regularly and one day I thought ‘why not?!’ and was inspired to start one myself. I haven’t looked back since!

2.What do you do other than blogging?

I dabble in social media work and freelance writing. I’ve recently started my youtube channel too, which is fun!

3.What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?

There have been so many amazing opportunities and I’ve met some truly wonderful people. I’ve been involved in some fabulous campaigns, been to glamorous events and made some wonderful friends through blogging – I never dreamed any of this would happen when I first started my blog from the comfort of my bed.

4.Do you have any people/things that inspire you?

I love the romanticism of eras gone by. The 40s, 50s and 60s to be precise! I pull inspiration from each of those and add a modern twist.

5.What camera do you use?

I use a Canon 550D with a 50mm lens.

6.How would you describe your style?

My personal style is changing all the time believe it or not, but I’ve got a lifetime to perfect it, so that’s fine by me! As I mentioned, I adore the bygone eras and vintage clothing – I dabble in inspired outfits as the fancy takes me. When wearing items from the high-street, you can throw a peter pan collar, polka dots or a striped tee with a pair of high-waisted jeans at me any day of the week.

7.What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?

I always turn to some high-waisted jeans, a striped Breton tee and a red lip. It’s fail safe.

8.Do you have any favourite designers?

Orla Kiely and Nishe (available on ASOS). Both have amazing retro vibes.

9.Which places do you often shop at?

I shop online a lot, as I’m often too busy to wander around the shops. ASOS, Sarenza, H&M…The usual culprits!

10.If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would you steal?

This is a tough question! I don’t think I’d take anyone in particulars…Can I just steal the entire Orla Kiely SS13 collection instead?

Thanks again Emily!

Tallulah xoxo

100Hey lovelies! Today’s a little special post for you…A little interview with one of my absolute all-time FAVOURITE bloggers ever…Caroline from Burkatron! She’s one of those awesome, inspiring bloggers who you just seem to adore at first look, and scroll through her whole blog feed until your eyes start hurting, admiring her awesome fashion and DIYs…

1.Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?
I started blogging about a year and a half ago! I’d never heard of blogging, and it was actually my boyfriend who suggested I start one, so I had a look at a few and thought I’d give it a try!

2.What do you do other than blogging?
I’m an artist by trade! I’ve been painting since I graduated from Central St Martins, but blogging has taken up a lot of time recently, so it’s a juggling act at the minute!

3.What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?
There’s been a few, but I recently filmed an advert with Toyota which was a really fun experience! It was a positive idea movement inspired by their eco friendly hybrid car; I was able to set up a shop and give away free beautiful vintage clothes to passers by…! I felt like Santa Claus, aha!

4.Do you have any people/things that inspire you?
I’m usually inspired by anyone creative, I also read a lot of French blogs, particularly Betty Autier who really inspires my outfits! I always find colour a huge inspiration, so my fashion posts tend to be a little eye watering, aha!

5.What camera do you use?
I’ve ‘borrowed’ my boyfriends Nikon D60 for the last 6 months, but I still take a lot of snaps on my iPhone! As long as there’s good natural light, the pictures are still great (you don’t necessarily need expensive equipment!)

6.How would you describe your style?
Eclectic, I’m a bit of a magpie! I love night street clothing and mixing it with my vintage collection. I like to think of it as boho/hobo chic 😉

7.What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?
One perfect fitting pair of jeans! It takes me ages to find a pair to suit my shape but it’s worth it in the end!

8.Do you have any favourite designers?
Philip Lim, Stella McCartney, Christopher Kane, Marni and KW Anderson to name a few.

9.Which places do you often shop at?
You can usually guarantee I’m wearing something from Topshop, Urban Outfitters or ASOS most days!

10.If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would you steal?
Oooh toughie! Alexa Chung or Isabel Lucas…My two favourite boho crushes!

Thanks again Caroline! It was so lovely having you on my blog!

Tallulah xoxo

meHey lovelies! Today’s post is a lovely little interview on one of my favourite bloggers…Vanessa Chloe! Her blog is super lovely, and she is just gorgeous…So go check it out, and read on for the interview!

1.Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?

I started my blog because at the time I wanted to join my universities student newspaper and wanted to work on my written language before I applied for a position. I came across the blogging world via The Londoner, and thought that blogging would by the perfect platform to work on my writing. I became totally obsessed with reading lifestyle blogs, and the Londoner remains my ultimate fave!

2.What do you do other than blogging?

I am a full time university student at Bangor University, studying BA Heritage, Archaeology and History (glamorous, right?), and also part time waitress, and volunteer at the local museum. I am also a Competitions and Events organiser for my universities pole fitness and dance society, and a pole dancer myself (its family friendly stuff!).

3.What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?

Possibly the lovely comments that I have had, I’m not used to having so many people tell me that what I do is interesting and good, so it’s been a great help to my low self-esteem.

4.Do you have any people/things that inspire you?

Not really people, but I do become inspired by other people’s photography, especially to travel and see the world, and when I’m down some beautiful photos of scenery or animals makes me appreciate how beautiful life is.

5.What camera do you use?

Panasonic Lumix G10, although I’m saving the pennies for a Canon!

6.How would you describe your style?

Safe and lazy! I cannot for the life of my coordinate an outfit when I have just woken up so I usually just throw on jeans and a t-shirt. If I was to put effort into something however it’s still not bold and bright, but more comfy and then the rest depends on my current mood.

7.What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?

Pole shorts! I wear them under every single dress and skirt, and trust me girls, it saves you from so many embarrassing moments!

8.Do you have any favourite designers?

I’m more of a high street girl and don’t tend to look into designer stuff because of temptation to buy things, but my favourite handbag designer will always be Mulberry.

9.Which places do you often shop at?

Urban Outfitters and Topshop are my most common go to places, but if I’m in the mood to splash out on something unique and special – H&M is somewhere where I never used to go to because I thought all their stuff was a bit plain, but I’m recently loving what they have in, and now it’s like my Primark. It’s great for affordable and grown-up pieces to fill up your wardrobe with. Debenhams is also where I go to buy make-up and perfumes.

10.If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would you steal?

Emma Watson’s, her clothes are so cute!

Thanks again Vanessa Chloe for participating, and I hope you all enjoyed this post!

Tallulah xoxo

header 4Hey lovelies! This morning’s post is on one of my massive inspirations in the blogging world…Ellie from http://styleandstarbucks.blogspot.co.uk/! Okay guys, she’s the real deal. Her blog is wonderful, and she even has a youtube channel under her belt, and more than 900 followers…She also gives me a ton of inspiration in all her posts, and just seems like such a lovely girl…Read on for the interview!

1. Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?

I started my blog after months of debating whether or not it was a good idea. I was inspired by LLYMLRS and Beauty Crush as they were two styles I felt I could really relate too. I thought it’d be a fun little project just to try out, and I had no idea I’d end up with all these amazing perks!

2. What do you do other than blogging?

I have just started a YouTube channel to run alongside my blog (loveelliee) and sometimes I’ll use websites such as WIWT. In terms of hobbies, I’m a massive book and film geek, so most of my time is spent watching movies and reading books!

3. What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?

Probably my best experience was getting to meet some of my bloggy friends! I travelled up to London and spent the day with them and had the best time! I feel kind of like they’re my long lost sisters – it was amazing getting to meet people who, without blogging, I would never had had the pleasure of meeting!

4. Do you have any people/things that inspire you?

It sounds kind of silly but I’m very inspired by poetry! Personally, I think it helps my writing style (which has, on occasion, been described as ‘poetic’, haha!) I also draw inspiration from websites like Pinterest, as street style is a big inspiration for me!

5. What camera do you use?

I use the Nikon D3100, not the best camera now that I’m starting to make videos, but for blogging it’s a beaut!

6. How would you describe your style?

I’m not sure how I’d describe it as I’m usually open to any kind of style. I don’t like sticking to a particular way of dressing as it’s always fun to branch out and try something you’d never thought to wear before! If I had to put it down to one word, I’d probably just say Casual!

7. What’s your favourite and essential item of clothing/accessory you think everyone should have?

My essential item is a leather jacket. It’s such an amazing piece, as it can instantly add something to any outfit. My go-to outfit usually consists of skinny jeans, a baggy white tee and a black leather jacket. You can dress up any outfit almost instantly with one of those.

8. Do you have any favourite designers?

I’ve recently become a little obsessed with Thierry Lasry sunglasses, shame they’re a little out of my price range, haha! I also love Mary Katrantzou who had a collection at TOPSHOP a little while back! Also, designers like Marc Jacobs and Alexander Wang!

9. Which places do you often shop at?

My favourite places are TOPSHOP, ASOS & Missguided. I also love Primark for all my little essentials!

10. If you could steal anyone’s wardrobe, who’s would you steal?

Either Molly from the Saturdays or Millie Macintosh. Gosh – what I would give for a wardrobe like that!

Tallulah xoxo

indexHey lovelies! Sorry I haven’t posted in a while, but I’ve just been really under pressure at school, and have just had so much work, a science exam to revise for, and I had a maths test today! Ugh, I’ve been so tired, and just bored, and haven’t had much inspiration, but I’ve come up with a long list of ideas recently, and so hopefully a lot more blogging will be underway! Anyway, enough nattering, and on to Islay! I thought I’d start off my back-to-blogging with a little post on the lovely Islay from http://www.islaay.com/! She’s one of my all time favourites, I mean, have you seen her blog? It’s so cute, and dainty, and her clothes and makeup are always so perfect, I mean, even those little details, like how your mouse turns into a rose when you go onto her blog, aw! (Go see what I’m talking about…) I’m also in love with her youtube and instagram…Just go check her out and you’ll see what I mean!:)

1.Why did you start your blog, and did anyone inspire you?

I started my blog in October 2011 after reading blogs and watching youtube for years and I wanted to get involved myself! The first youtuber I watched was juicystar07 and I can’t remember the first blog I started reading, but I guess it all sort of started from there!

2.What do you do other than blogging?

Along with my blog/youtube, I go to sixth form and study geography, photography and biology and I have a Saturday job in a shoe shop which I love! I like to paint my nails and bake a lot too!

3.What’s been the best experience that you’ve had during your time blogging?

I’d say the best experience was going to London to meet a few of my blogger friends and when I went to a couple of press days – It was such a good day and I can’t wait to meet them again soon!

4.Do you have any people/things that inspire you?

I find most of my inspiration through Instagram and Pinterest. By searching for relevant things you’re bound to find stuff to inspire you! I get lots of nail art inspiration from Pinterest!

5.What camera do you use?

I used to use a canon ixus which was great but I upgraded to a canon sx40 in October and I don’t know how I lived without it now!

6.What’s your favourite and essential item of make-up you think everyone should have?

This is a hard one but I think I’d have to say ‘cherries in the snow’ lipstick by revlon. It’s the perfect pinky berry shade and suits everyone! I love the formula so much too!

7.Do you have any favourite make-up designers?

If I could buy everything from Chanel or YSL then I would. The collections they bring out are always gorgeous!

8.Which places do you often shop at for make-up?

Usually Boots or I buy it online -You can usually find a bargain if you look hard enough online!

9.If you could steal anyone’s make-up bag, who’s would you steal?

I’d have to say Tanya Burr – She always has the most flawless makeup and I’m so envious over her mac eyeshadow collection!

You can tell I’ve missed blogging by the long intro, haha, but I’d like to thank Islay for taking part, and look out for more guest bloggers coming soon!

Tallulah xoxo
